Remote Desktop Software

Connect to a remote computer, server or field device from your own screen. From a browser, the desktop app or an Android device; all three work with the same account. No ports to open on the router, traffic is end-to-end encrypted and the servers are in Turkey.

What is remote desktop software?

Remote desktop software shows another computer's screen on your own and lets you use that machine with your keyboard and mouse. In companies it is chosen for three jobs: giving users remote support, managing servers and field devices, and reaching your own machine from outside the office. ELPO's product in this area is SkyyDesk.

How do you connect?

1

From the browser

You connect from a browser tab without downloading anything. On corporate computers without install rights, this is the only way.

2

With the desktop app

It uses hardware acceleration, so it is smoother; preferred for machines you connect to all the time and for long sessions.

3

From mobile

You connect to the office machine from an Android device; this is the practical route for field teams.

4

The connection is made

The two machines are matched directly over UDP; if that is not possible, the session automatically falls back to the relay server and does not drop.

What does a session include?

Full-resolution image

You see the remote desktop on your own screen at full resolution.

Smooth video streaming

60 fps streaming with H264, H265 and VP9 codecs.

Two-way file transfer

Files move in both directions with drag and drop.

Clipboard sharing

The text, image and file clipboard is shared between the two machines.

Multiple monitors

If the other side has several screens, you can switch to any of them.

Access log

Access control and connection history are kept on record.

No router setup needed

With UDP hole punching the two machines meet directly; you do not need to open ports on the router.

End-to-end encryption

NaCl/libsodium-based XSalsa20-Poly1305 encryption, Curve25519 key exchange and a separate key for every session. The relay server cannot decrypt the content.

Who uses it?

Corporate IT and support teams

Remote user support, server maintenance and incident response, with a record of who connected and when.

Field and service teams

Connecting to field devices from mobile; diagnosing the problem without travelling to the customer's site.

Organisations with data residency requirements

Servers are in ELPO's data centre in Turkey; organisations that wish can host it on their own server.

People working outside the office

Access to their own office machine from the browser or the app.

Frequently asked questions

What is a remote desktop connection?

It means using a computer's screen, keyboard and mouse from another device over the network. An agent runs on the remote machine and a client on the connecting side; the screen image is compressed and streamed, while keystrokes and mouse movements travel the other way. In business use, the record matters as much as the connection itself: who connected to which machine, and when.

What is remote access software, and is it different from remote desktop?

In everyday language the two mean the same thing. Technically, remote desktop means taking over the screen, while remote access also covers work done without taking over the screen, such as file transfer, terminal and service management. SkyyDesk offers both in one session: it takes over the screen, moves files both ways over the same connection and shares the clipboard.

Which is the best remote access software?

There is no single right answer; in a company the decision comes down to four criteria. Where the data is kept (if the server is abroad, documenting that gets harder), what the licence counts (concurrent seats or devices), whether session records are kept, and whether you can connect to machines where installation is locked. SkyyDesk's position: servers in Turkey, licensing per concurrent seat, connection history in the panel, and a browser client that needs no installation.

How much does remote desktop cost?

The SkyyDesk Standard plan is 50 USD per concurrent seat per year. A seat counts one session open at the same time, not one person; a person can connect to as many machines as they like. The unit price drops as the number of seats grows. The current amount and payment are handled through pay.elpo.com.tr.

Do I need to change the other side's router or firewall settings?

No. This is what takes the most time in remote access; SkyyDesk matches the two machines directly with UDP hole punching. On networks where a direct connection cannot be made, the session automatically falls back to a TCP relay server and the connection does not drop.

Is the connection secure, and does my data go to a third-party cloud?

Traffic is end-to-end encrypted; even when it passes through the relay server, the server cannot decrypt the content. Encryption is NaCl/libsodium-based (XSalsa20-Poly1305, Curve25519 key exchange, Ed25519 server authentication) and a separate key is used for every session. The servers are in ELPO's data centre in Turkey.

Does it work on a computer without install rights?

Yes. With the browser client you can connect without downloading anything; on corporate computers this is usually the only workable route.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), Debian- and Ubuntu-based Linux, Android 5.1 and later; on the browser side Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. A macOS app is on the way.

Can we host it on our own server?

Yes. For organisations with stricter data residency requirements, there is an option to host it on their own server.

Why is remote desktop software assessed separately in a corporate setting?

For personal use, the connection alone is enough; in a company you also need a record of who connected to which machine, when and with what permission. SkyyDesk keeps that record, encrypts sessions end to end and its servers are in Turkey — this is where the difference begins for organisations that have to document where their data is kept.

How do you connect to computers where nothing can be installed?

You connect through the browser: nothing is downloaded, the session opens in a tab. On corporate computers with install rights locked, this is in practice the only way.

Does the session drop if the connection breaks?

The two machines are first matched directly over UDP; if that is not possible, the session automatically falls back to the relay server and does not drop. No extra setting is needed on the user's side.

Are file transfer and multiple screens supported?

Yes. Files move both ways with drag and drop, the clipboard (text, image, file) is shared between the two machines, and if the other side has several screens you can switch to any of them. The image streams at 60 fps with H264, H265 and VP9 codecs.

Can I connect to the office computer from a mobile device?

Yes, you can connect to the office machine from an Android device. This is the practical route for field teams: when a fault occurs, they reach the same screen without going back to the office.
