STX Oil Terminal

STX is a standalone stock and storage software built for fuel storage facilities, distribution terminals and distributors. It lets storage-license holders file their DEP1, DEP2, DR and coupon reports effortlessly, and brings radar tank gauging, tanker loading/unloading and invoicing onto a single panel.

It is a separate, standalone product from AX station automation — designed for storage and terminal operations, not the forecourt.

What is a Terminal Automation System?

A terminal automation system integrates the field equipment of a fuel/oil terminal (tanks, meters, valves, loading arms) with process control to automate load authorization, product movement, measurement, documentation and reporting end to end. It controls truck loading & unloading, additive injection, blending and tank transfers — in short, it is the bridge between the ERP and the field (SCADA).

The flow works like this: the vehicle arrives at the terminal → the driver scans their card → the system verifies authorization → loading starts only if valid → the quantity is measured and verified by meter → documents and reports are generated automatically. ELPO STX delivers this terminal automation together with storage licensing, EPDK filings and stock management in a single piece of software.

The 5 core functions of terminal automation
  • Load authorization — Card/vehicle verification — loading only for the authorized
  • Product movement — Control of loading, unloading and tank transfers
  • Measurement — Radar tank gauging + quantity verification by meter
  • Documentation — Waybills, weighbridge and EPDK documents automatically
  • Reporting — Real-time stock, in/out and reconciliation reports
What does it do?

Storage, stock and terminal — in one software

Monitors storage processes in real time and automates EPDK filings with secure data management.

Radar Tank Gauging

Level, volume and temperature in storage tanks are measured with high accuracy by ATEX/IECEx-certified contactless radar sensors. There is no mechanical wear. The readings appear in real time in STX's own interface, where tank levels and movements are tracked.

  • Level / volume / temperature measurement by certified contactless radar
  • Readings live in the STX interface
  • Tank level and movement tracking

Petroleum Stock Management (DR)

The DR module provides accurate, real-time tracking of petroleum stocks. Storage services are managed effectively; inflow, outflow and current stock can be reported at any moment.

  • Real-time, accurate stock tracking
  • Inflow / outflow / current stock report
  • Automatic, scheduled reporting

DEP1 & DEP2 Filings

Generates the DEP1 and DEP2 filings that storage-license holders must submit to EPDK easily and error-free. Compliant with all general conditions set by EPDK.

  • DEP1 integration
  • DEP2 service
  • Compliance with EPDK general conditions

Coupon Filings — Wholesale

Coupon filings for wholesale movements between distributors are made quickly and easily. A user-friendly interface lets you manage all filings from a single panel.

  • Wholesale movement between distributors
  • Coupon filing generation
  • Management from a single panel

Loading & Unloading

In addition to the storage system, the loading/unloading of tankers and trucks arriving at the terminal is handled by automation. Each operation is authorized, the quantity is logged and posted directly to stock.

  • Tanker / truck loading and unloading
  • Operation authorization + quantity logging
  • Linked to stock and invoicing

Invoicing

Loading and unloading operations are posted to the system and linked to invoicing processes; wholesale sales and storage-service invoices are generated from the same operational data.

  • Operation → invoicing flow
  • Wholesale sales invoices
  • Storage-service invoices
EPDK Filings

DEP1, DEP2, DR and coupon — with one click

Eases the legal obligations of storage-license holders. Meets all general conditions set by EPDK; monitors storage activity in real time to provide instant, secure data.

DEP1

The basic storage filing that storage-license holders submit to EPDK.

DEP2

The second filing service related to storage activities.

DR

The stock/reporting module that provides accurate, real-time tracking of petroleum stocks.

Kupon

Coupon filings for wholesale movements between distributors.

Terminal loading and unloading — an extension of storage

On top of STX's storage core, the loading and unloading of tankers and trucks arriving at the terminal is run by automation. Every operation is authorized, the quantity received/dispatched is logged and posted directly to stock and invoicing — storage, loading and wholesale are all managed from the same data.

  • Operation authorization + quantity logging
  • Posted to stock movement instantly

Frequently Asked Questions

About terminal automation

What is a terminal automation system?
A terminal automation system integrates the field equipment of a fuel/oil terminal with process control to automate load authorization, product movement, measurement, documentation and reporting. It controls truck loading and unloading, additive injection, blending and tank transfers; it is the bridge between the ERP and the field (SCADA).
Which EPDK filings does STX generate?
STX generates the DEP1, DEP2 and DR (petroleum stock) filings and coupon filings that storage-license holders must submit to EPDK, error-free. It complies with the general conditions set by EPDK.
What is the difference between storage/terminal automation and station automation?
Station automation (AX) manages retail fuel sales (pumps, store, shifts). Terminal/storage automation (STX) focuses on wholesale stock, tank gauging, loading/unloading and EPDK storage filings for storage facilities, distribution terminals and distributors.
How is truck loading/unloading automated?
The vehicle arrives at the terminal, the driver scans their card, the system verifies authorization; loading starts only if valid. The quantity is measured and verified by meter, documents and reports are generated automatically — human error and loss are minimized.
What is custody transfer and how does STX provide it?
Custody transfer is the measurement and documentation of quantity to legal metrology standards when product changes hands between parties. During loading and unloading, STX records the quantity via meter and radar measurement, generates the document automatically and posts it to stock. The measuring devices arrive certified from their manufacturers; STX reads and reports them.
Does STX support both manned and unmanned terminal operation?
Yes. Because STX works with card and vehicle authorization, it supports both attended and unmanned (self-service) terminal/depot operation. Only an authorized driver and vehicle can transact; unauthorized loading is blocked and every transaction is logged.
How does STX integrate with field equipment and SCADA/ERP?
STX collects the data from the terminal's tanks, meters and field equipment in its own interface; it bridges the ERP and field operations. Product movement, tank levels and loading/unloading are monitored and reported in real time.
