Vehicle Identification System

Make sure fuel is booked to the right vehicle every single time. An RFID link is established between the tag fitted to the vehicle and the dispenser; once the vehicle is verified fuelling begins, and it stops automatically when the nozzle is returned. Take control of your fuel spend at the vehicle level.

What is a vehicle identification system?

A vehicle identification system is a system that uses an identifier fitted to the vehicle (an RFID ring/antenna or card) to automatically post each fuelling to the correct vehicle and customer. RFID communication is established between the nozzle and the vehicle; once verified, fuelling starts and ends when the nozzle is removed. In fleet management it prevents unauthorised fuelling and produces per-vehicle consumption reports.

How does vehicle identification work?

1

Tag installation

An RFID vehicle identification unit (ring/antenna or card) is fitted to the vehicle and registered in the system together with its plate details.

2

Verification at the dispenser

The vehicle pulls up to a dispenser fitted with a vehicle identification unit; RFID communication is established between the nozzle and the vehicle, and the vehicle is verified.

3

Automatic fuelling

After verification fuelling starts and ends automatically when the nozzle is removed; the transaction is posted to the correct vehicle and customer.

4

Limits and reporting

Daily/weekly/monthly limits are applied per vehicle; you get a report of which vehicle was fuelled where, when and how much.

Key capabilities

Per-vehicle limits

Cap your fuel spend by defining daily, weekly and monthly limits; per-vehicle fuel and mileage control.

Preventing unauthorised fuelling

Only a registered vehicle can take fuel; fuelling of an unauthorised or different vehicle is blocked.

Fast, contactless transactions

Fast, uninterrupted refuelling with no receipts, signatures or cash; payments can be consolidated to a single point.

Invoice management

Invoices are issued on set days of the month; the burden of expense receipts and thousands of separate invoices disappears.

Detailed reporting

Powerful reports by vehicle, driver, date and quantity; transparent tracking of fleet consumption.

UTTS compatibility

In Turkey, vehicle identification is tracked through UTTS; the system works in compatibility with UTTS without adding any extra device to the existing flow.

Who is it for?

Companies with fleets

Controlled, capped and reported fuelling with tags issued to the vehicle fleet.

Fuel stations

Automatic, fast and error-free refuelling service for corporate and fleet customers.

Municipal and public vehicles

Per-vehicle consumption transparency and prevention of unauthorised fuelling.

Frequently asked questions

How does a vehicle identification system work?

The RFID tag fitted to the vehicle communicates contactlessly with the vehicle identification unit on the dispenser. Once the vehicle is verified, fuelling starts and stops when the nozzle is removed, and the transaction is posted automatically to the correct vehicle.

Is it the same thing as UTTS?

UTTS (National Vehicle Identification System) is the national framework through which vehicle identification is tracked in Turkey. ELPO vehicle identification works in compatibility with the UTTS flow without requiring any extra device on top of the existing system.

Can an unauthorised vehicle take fuel?

No. Only a vehicle registered in the system and verified can take fuel; fuelling will not start for an unregistered or unauthorised vehicle.

How does it control fleet costs?

With daily/weekly/monthly limits per vehicle and detailed reports, you transparently track how much fuel each vehicle received.
