How Much Does a Fuel Station Automation System Cost? Why Is There No Fixed Price?

The cost of a fuel station automation system varies with the size of the station and the modules chosen; that is why you will not find a fixed list price on the internet. The price is set specifically for each project according to the answers to the questions “how many pumps”, “how many tanks”, “which modules” and “which hardware”. Below we explain the seven factors that determine the cost.

7 Factors That Determine the Price

  • 1. Number of pumps and nozzles: Pump automation (PX) scales with the number of pumps/nozzles.
  • 2. Number of tanks and probe type: Each tank needs a level/temperature/density probe; tank automation (TX) depends on the number of tanks.
  • 3. Modules selected: Only pump + tank, or also vehicle recognition (MTX), tanker (ETOS), central management (CX) and prepaid sales? Each module widens the scope.
  • 4. Field hardware: Equipment such as card readers, RS485-USB converters, manifolds and automation cabinets.
  • 5. EPDK 1240 reporting: Is automatic Dep1/Dep2/Dr/K/Dat reporting under this Turkish regulation included? (EPDK is Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority.)
  • 6. Single station or dealer network: An installation of several stations managed from a central point expands the scope.
  • 7. Installation and support: Site survey, installation, training and the level of 24/7 support.

Subscription or One-Time Licence?

Automation systems are generally offered in two models: a one-time hardware + licence investment, or a monthly subscription (software + regulatory updates + support included). The subscription model lowers the initial cost and automatically covers changes to EPDK regulations.

Watch Out for Hidden Costs

As well as the initial purchase price, ask about these too: is an extra development fee charged when the regulations change, is the support fee included, what are the spare-part and service times if the hardware fails, and is the system compatible with your existing pump/ÖKC brand (ÖKC: the fiscal cash register required in Turkey)? At ELPO, regulatory updates are included in the subscription, and hardware and software come from a single source.

How Do You Get a Firm Quote?

Fill in the quote form with your station's number of pumps/tanks and the modules you need; after a site survey our team provides an itemised price specific to your project. For details of the modules, see the fuel station automation system page.
