Electronic Signature Software

Drag in your document, insert your card, sign. İmzacı is a desktop signing application written from scratch in .NET 9 that runs natively on Windows, Linux and macOS and recognises your smart card the moment it is inserted. It does not need a Java virtual machine.

What is electronic signature software?

Electronic signature software lets you sign documents with your qualified electronic certificate (in Turkey: nitelikli elektronik sertifika, the qualified certificate under Turkish e-signature law) and verify the signatures you receive. The signature is created with the key on a smart card or USB token; if the document is a PDF the signature is embedded in it, if it is XML a structured signature is applied. İmzacı does this in four standards (CAdES, XAdES, PAdES, ASiC), up to archive level.

How do you sign?

1

Drop the document

Drag a PDF, an XML or any other file into the window; you can also sign in bulk by selecting a folder.

2

Insert the card

A smart card or USB token is detected the moment it is inserted; the PKCS#11 library is found automatically and there is no constant polling.

3

Choose the standard

CAdES, XAdES, PAdES or ASiC; visible or invisible signature and, if needed, the long-term archive (LTA) level.

4

Sign and verify

A timestamp is added and the signature is verified. You keep the resulting file and the verification report.

What does the software include?

Native on three operating systems

Runs on Windows, Linux and macOS from a single code base. Written in .NET 9 and Avalonia; installation is lightweight.

Event-driven smart card handling

Detects the card instantly when it is inserted and removed; uses noticeably less CPU than tools that poll constantly.

Four signature standards

CAdES (BES to A), XAdES (BES/T/C/X/XL/A), PAdES (B-B to B-LTA) and ASiC-S/ASiC-E.

Multiple timestamp sources with fallback

Automatic switching between KamuSM (Turkey's public-sector certification authority), TSE (Turkish Standards Institution) and RFC 3161 providers; if one does not respond, signing does not stop but moves on to the next.

e-Yazışma and bulk signing

Official e-Yazışma (Turkey's standard for electronic correspondence with public institutions) v1.3 and v2.0 packages, KamuSM root certificate integration, folder-based bulk signing.

Command line and scheduling

Besides the interface, signing, verification and batch processing from the command line; scheduled overnight signing flows can be set up.

Corporate network and proxy

OCSP, CRL, timestamp and repository access work through a proxy; no problems behind a corporate firewall.

Plug-in architecture

Custom signer and verifier plug-ins can be loaded so that an organisation can add its own business rules without touching the core.

Who uses it?

Public institutions and EBYS users

Creating official e-Yazışma packages and signing documents in EBYS (electronic document management systems); works with KamuSM root certificates.

Law, accounting and consulting firms

Signing PDF contracts and reports, verifying the signatures received.

Businesses that produce documents in bulk

Folder-based bulk signing and automatic signing flows that run overnight from the command line.

Teams using Linux and macOS

A native application for teams that cannot sign because their tools only run on Windows.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

No, İmzacı is a licensed enterprise product; we do not offer a free version. To try it before deciding, you can request a demo and test it with your own documents and your own card.

Do I need to install Java?

No. The application is written in .NET 9 and runs natively on all three operating systems; it does not need a Java virtual machine and installation is lightweight.

Can I sign documents other than PDF?

Yes. PAdES is used for PDF, XAdES for XML documents and CAdES for binary files and data; ASiC is there when the signature and the documents need to be packaged in a single container.

Can it create e-Yazışma packages?

Yes. It produces official e-Yazışma v1.3 and v2.0 packages and has KamuSM root certificate integration; it is ready for institutional document flows.

Can I sign hundreds of documents in one go?

Yes. You can select a folder and sign in bulk, run the same job from the command line and have it run automatically overnight as a scheduled task.

I want to add signing to my own software. What do you have for that?

For that we have our developer library eSignature: modular .NET packages for signing PDF, XML and data, with HSM and mobile signature support.

Does the electronic signature software run on Linux and macOS?

Yes. İmzacı runs on Windows, Linux and macOS from a single code base; because it is written in .NET 9 and Avalonia, installation is lightweight. This is the deciding point for public-sector units in Turkey that use Pardus (Turkey's national Linux distribution).

Can I sign all the documents in a folder at once?

Yes. You can drag the files into the window or select a folder and sign in bulk. This is the workflow in units that sign hundreds of documents a day.

Do I have to register the card every time?

No. A smart card or USB token is detected the moment it is inserted and the PKCS#11 library is found automatically; because the software does not poll constantly, it does not keep the system busy.

Do you also issue the e-signature certificate?

No. The qualified electronic certificate is issued by electronic certificate service providers (ESHS) authorised by BTK (Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority); for public institutions there is KamuSM. ELPO does not sell certificates; it makes the software that signs and verifies documents with your certificate. These are two separate jobs and you need both.

Which programs do I need to use an e-signature?

You need two pieces: the qualified certificate you hold (on a smart card or USB token, supplied by its provider) and a program that signs documents with that card. The second piece is İmzacı; apart from the card driver and the PKCS#11 library you do not need to install anything else, and it does not require Java.

How do I prove that the signature is valid?

After signing, a timestamp is added and the signature is verified; you keep both the resulting file and the verification report. For documents that will be stored for a long time, choosing the LTA level keeps the signature verifiable even after the certificate expires.

How much does İmzacı cost?

For the desktop signing application, the price depends on the number of users and how it is deployed within the organisation; if e-Yazışma and bulk signing will be used, the scope is written accordingly.

What sets the price?

  • Number of users
  • Operating system mix (Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • Whether bulk signing and e-Yazışma will be used
  • In-house deployment and central configuration needs
  • Support and update scope
